March 19, 2020
Out of concern for the health of the clients and communities we serve, effective today, Thompson Driving School is suspending its operations for two weeks in response to COVID-19. During this two-week period, we will not be conducting Court-Mandated Classes, New Drivers Education Classes or Behind the Wheel Lessons.
Our decision comes in response to recommendations that have been made by our leaders on local, state and national levels, as well as by the CDC, the Arkansas Department of Health, the American Driver & Traffic Safety Education Association and the Arkansas Department of Education – Higher Education Division.
Thompson Driving has been a member of the Central Arkansas community for 67 years and we are pleased to have helped ensure the driving safety of generations of students. Now, in light of the COVID-19 challenge, we are committed to doing all we can to preserve and protect the health of our fellow Arkansans. It is that overriding priority that has prompted our decision to suspend operations for two weeks.
While we believe that face-to-face learning is most effective, we are exploring options that may allow us to resume classes through web-based technology. We will communicate what these options may be and when they will be available on our website as well as through social and traditional media platforms. I encourage you to check our website (www.thompsondriving.com) regularly for updated information regarding this situation.
All Behind the Wheel lessons and Court Mandated classes are cancelled at least till April 4th. We will continue to evaluate this situation and start back when we feel it’s safe.
Like you, we are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as to when we will resume operations, consistent with recommendations by our leaders and health officials.
On a personal note, it is in times of challenge that neighbors and communities rally to support each other and persevere through difficult times. Count on Thompson Driving to continue to support this great community as it has supported us, and to return to normal operations when it is safe and wise to do so.
In the meantime, let us know how we can serve you. And please, stay safe and check on one another as we come together to overcome this challenge.
